Energy and Infrastructure

Energy and Infrastructure
Adequate infrastructure can have a direct and positive impact on a country’s economic and social success. It covers the services and facilities that are required for the economy to function effectively, such as roads and, electricity supply. The energy industry is a crucial part of the infrastructure and maintenance of every country, as power is required for virtually all socio-economic activities. The oil sector has also dictated the pace and structure of growth of the Nigerian economy for over 50 years. Nigeria is fortunate to have huge energy resources, both conventional and renewable, which gives the country significant opportunities to transform its economy and the lives of its citizens. According to the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR),  Nigeria has proven crude oil and condensate reserves of 36.89 billion barrels as at January 1 2020. The DPR also stated that Nigeria has 203.16 Trillion Cubit Feet (TCF) of proven natural gas reserve as at January 1 2020.
