The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has released a circular addressed to all banks and other financial institutions. The circular introduced the Guidelines for Regulation and Supervision of Credit Guarantee Companies in Nigeria. This guideline is issued as part of CBN’s efforts to stimulate lending to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the nation.
The guidelines stipulates the “minimum licensing governance and prudential requirements for prospective credit guarantee companies.”
